Whatever happened to Face To Face releasing their second album? I remember a music video of them climbing the stairs in robotic fashion called TOO YOUNG then nothing? Anyone have any idea's??
Why did the band split up?

Hi, the second album was almost finished and then the band split. The album was never released, just the single Too Young. By the time the video was released Simon Le Fevre had already left. There was bad blood between the members (mostly Simon Le Fevre and John) and the band faded away.....Jarrod

It would be nice to get the balance of the unfinished second album + the first album Face To Face on one CD release.

I will suggest it to Benjy Mudie from Retrofresh - they are the forefront local record company that gives local bands a huge punt. Im sure that a Face To Face re-release on CD with the unreleased tracks will be a great idea. Thanks John.

I am planning a second blog to handle bands from 2000 to the present - I just wanted to get this one up and running. I am quite pleased with the response - especially from the members of the individual bands, Brian Currin (from SA Rock Archives - check it out) & Benjy Mudie who has taken a keen interest (check out his excellent local releases on the Retrofresh link).

I've been trying to get my hands on some of the CD's from the bands I used to listen to in the 80's, including Face to Face. It's quite a trip down memory lane :) Would love to find out how to do that, especially since I now live in Canada. Just saw your "Soft Shoes" page...anyone else remember them winning the original "battle of the bands"? I remember seeing them at the Hyperama as a VERY smitten teenager. Loved the 80's! :) Great website, thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Great ! To finally find some info on Face to Face. Over the years I've been trying to find a reference on the internet. My memories go back in time to the period Aug 84 - Feb 85 when I was in SA as a Dutch student. I experienced live performances of Face to Face in Pretoria at Technicon (Sep 84 ?) and in Jo'burg in Ellis Park (Concert Operation Hunger - Jan 85). And of course, listening to the hit on Radio 702. Thanks for the tips and I hope to find a CD release.
